bows bows and more bows

So I guess my husband is officially happy. I have a hobby LOL.. other than playing world of warcraft... In fact the last 48 hrs I havent really logged into my game except to do a guild invite and that is odd of me not to log in for a few mins a day. I know and yes I am addicted to the game it is fun and I am sure there are many ppl out there that are addicted to different video games. Anyways... So after I got over my 2 week sinus infection I was really hoping to finish up the outfit I began to make Ava but instead I got the bright idea to learn how to make bows. The first bows I did were pretty plain jane .. just needle and thread and ribbon but I think they are pretty cute still. Here are a few of the plain ones I made.

I really liked the one with the poka dots... it reminded me of easter colors so pretty. I then looked up some more videos (youtube LOL) and figured out how to make bigger over the top bows.

My husband said this one looked too busy and I informed him that apparently he doesnt look at bows much since I have seen way more busier bows then this one.
This was the last one I made tonite and so far it is my favorite. I am considering taking them down to the consignment shop I use and asking if they can sell these. Maybe they will sell I dunno hehe. Unfortunatly once I run out of ribbon I will be at a standstill on the bow making until a few weeks pass and I have the money to get more stuff, which I will have to since I already been requested to make some bows for easter. So I will be busy trying to find some pretty ribbon to make those here in a few weeks. I guess since I will have to take a break on bow making I can finally get back to finishing the dress I am working on since it is halfway completed. Then I can start on the next outfit which I have already bought some really cute fabric to make it out of. Well until next blog later!

Sewing part 2 and other things

So the cutting out I was supposed to do after my last post never happened. I remembered that I had given back the fabric scissors to my mother in law so I had to wait to start another project. Today we went over to Nathan's grandparents. After the boys got their hair cut , Hunter went over to his Lele's to spend the day with them and Sam. It was so cute Sam called me this morning asking me in his sweet lil voice if hunter could come play and pick out a bunny rabbit. Of course I couldnt say no to my nephew, my son and him are best buddies. I love that. It is great to see them play and have so much fun together. While Hunter was off having fun at Lele's house. Ava, Nathan, and I went to Lou and Mac's. While Nathan helped Mac with a project I got to work cutting out a pattern for a dress. I decided to cut out a different fabric for the dress I want to make the girls for a test run. I got the bottom half of the dress done today all by myself. I was surprised at how much I remembered from the last one. So tomorrow sometime I am going over to Lele's to try and finish it up to the zipper part, then back to Lou's to get lessons on how to put a zipper in. Once I get the dress done I will post a pic. I am surprised at how much fun I am getting out of sewing. I actually am enjoying doing it plus getting to make my daughter cute clothes. Well this is a short post, I am actually very tired after today for some reason I guess it was just having so much fun hanging out with the grandparents. I love lou and mac to death. It is nice being close to both of nathans set of grandparents since mine have all past away. Hope everyone has a good nite ttyl.

Sewing

So about a few weeks ago after seeing all my friends being so creative .. I decided I would start sewing again. I got my dad to bring me the three plastic boxes of fabric that was my moms. He was super happy to get rid of those to me to clear out some space. I hadnt sewn since 8th grade. In home ec we had to make an apron and my mom had helped me out with a practice one at home since we had to do the one at school only. So needless to say it had been 16 yrs since I had sat down at a sewing machine. So I picked out a pattern that my mother in law had and found some cute fabric that was supposed to be for me as a child.

After about 3 weeks ( and with some help from my wonderful mother in law) I have finally completed it except for the finishing touches of heming it to the right length and getting the elastic in the waist at the right length. Here is the finished outfit and a pic of ava modeling it too!

So one more trip to the sewing machine and it will be ready to wear. My next project is making matching dresses for Ava and Greta. I am actually going to try and get them set and cut out tonite so maybe when I finish the heming and waist I can start on one of the two dresses for the girls. I am really excited about making Ava some outfits. And I have so much fabric atm all I will have to look for is patterns to make some dresses for her.
